Today in clase, we started talking ofhow its all built up, with adjectives, verbs, noun, and much more. What is Tradicional Grammar? refers to the collection of prescriptive rules and concepts about the structure of language that is commonly taught in school Here is the link you can visit for more information:  Gramática tradicional (escolar): definición y ejemplos (thoughtco.com) Today in class we realized a graphic organizer of traditional grammar from a link that our teacher sent us. Simple, Compound and Complex sentences. We talked about simple, compound and complex sentences, our teacher put us an activity so we could identify each one of them. In this activity we also find the three different kinds of sentences and their meaning is also en the activity. 

Tree Diagrams

 Tree diagram Where a sentence is divided into two parts: a subject and a predicate. They are made up of noun phrases or verb phrases. These are groups of words that include a noun or verb and any words that add as modifiers. The subject is a noun phrase while a predicate is usually a verb phrase. The noun phrase A big dog is comprised of the indefinite article ‘a’, the adjective ‘big’, and the noun ‘dog’. The verb phrase jumped over the fence consists of the verb ‘jumped’ and the prepositional phrase ‘over the fence’. Reed-Kellogg diagram These components are not separated by slashes and other symbols. Instead, they descend from the subject and predicate in the form of lines acting as branches. This continues until each noun or verb phrase is broken down into its simplest parts. In the end, a sentence diagrammed in this style should look like a vast tree, with the subject and predicate acting as the trunk and the sentence modifiers standing in as the colorful and complex leaves th...

  What is a Prefix? A prefix is a word part that is placed in front of a base word.  A prefix usually changes the meaning of the base word. Common prefixes include pre , bi , and anti . Take a look at the examples below. What is a Suffixes? A suffix is a word part that is placed at the end of a base word. A  suffix often transforms a word into a new part of speech. Common suffixes include ED , ING , and EST . Take a look at more suffix examples below.
