 What is a Prefix?

A prefix is a word part that is placed in front of a base word.  A prefix usually changes the meaning of the base word. Common prefixes include pre, bi, and anti. Take a look at the examples below.

A suffix is a word part that is placed at the end of a base word. A  suffix often transforms a word into a new part of speech. Common suffixes include ED, ING, and EST. Take a look at more suffix examples below.
